Polémicas declaraciones de Mariss Jansons en torno a las mujeres directoras de orquesta
En una entrevista para The Telegraph, el afamado maestro letón Mariss Jansons -actual batuta titular de la Orquesta de la Radio de Baviera- espetó: ‘Women conductors are not my cup of tea’. En concreto, las declaraciones completas indicaban:
“Hmm, well. Well I don’t want to give offence and I am not against it, that would be very wrong. I understand the world has changed, and there is now no profession that can be confined to this or that gender. It’s a question of what one is used to. I grew up in a different world, and for me seeing a woman on the podium… well, let’s just say it’s not my cup of tea”.
Las declaraciones han levantado ya una polvareda, a pesar de las cautelas previas con las que Jansons introduce su respuesta, aludiendo a sus orígenes en otra generación, un argumento ciertamente poco sostenible.
